A few days ago I made a research on Joomla extensions directory. I was searching for the most popular components, when I stumbled upon the Ozio gallery.
Ozio Gallery 2 and 3
Ozio gallery is a non-commercial gallery component for Joomla 1.5, Joomla 1.7 and Joomla 2.5. After installation, you only need to copy the image files to the given directory, and there you go! As far as I know, there is no search plugin for this component, mainly because of it's structure. (no database, only xml files)
The search plugin
On the Ozio gallery component page, there are instructions given of how to create a gallery, how to add images etc... Every skin (accordion, carousel, cooliris...) has an independent xml file, wich stores the information about the images. You can edit these files and attach titles, descriptions and other information to the images. The Ozio gallery Search plugin simply parses these files, and generates the Universal AJAX Live Search compatible search results.
Quick How-to
- Install
- Download the plugin file (the link is on the bottom of this page) and install it via Joomla extension manager.
- Enable
- In the admin plugin manager enable the plugin.
- Include it with Universal AJAX Live Search
- On the search module page you can check the Ozio Gallery Search plugin box if you want to search in the gallery.
Troubleshooting
If you are not getting any results with plugin you should manually edit the correspondig gallery xml file (*.ozio files) and fill out the missing data. Usually it's the title
or the image link.
